Quotes, cancellations, payment status, and refunds

How to create quotes and cancellation invoices, mark invoices as paid, and record refunds.

Updated

Quotes and cancellation invoices

You can create quotes and cancellation invoices in Norman. Open Invoices and use the Create button next to regular invoices.

Mark an invoice as paid

If a bank account is connected, Norman often marks invoices as paid automatically when the matching payment arrives.

If you want to set the status manually:

  • Open the invoice and use Mark as paid
  • or create a matching transaction under Accounting and link it to the invoice

Record a refund

Record a refund as a manual transaction with a negative amount:

  • Customer refund: negative income, for example -100 €
  • Expense refund: negative expense, for example -100 €

Add your VAT ID to invoices

If you want your VAT ID to appear on invoices, open the invoice settings, edit your business details, and add the VAT ID there.

Multiple documents per transaction

Currently, only one document can be attached to each transaction or bookkeeping entry.
